TOPIC:  IF CLAUSE-TYPE 1

GRADE:  10TH GRADE

SIZE:  30 STUDENTS

DATE:  15.12.2014

OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, students will be able;

·         To complete the sentences in Type 1

·         To write at least two sentences by using Type 1.

PRE- ACTIVITY

The teacher distributes papers to the students. On those papers, there are written the lyrics of the song that they listen but the sentences are not completed. The teacher plays the song again and the students will complete the lyrics while listening the song (Three Days Grace- Get Out Alive). In order to check the answers,the students change their papers with their friends, then the teacher plays a lyrics on the screen video and the students checks their pairs answers.

By the way, while the lyrics are being seen on the screen, the teacher draws a table showing the rules of If Clause- Type 1 on the board in order to maket he students see the rule and the sentences in written form.

At the end of the listening part, the teacher asks the students to write one more strike at the end of the song with their pers and share it with the others.

CONTINGENCY PLAN

If the students complete this activity quickly and we have extra time, we can play a memorizing game. The teacher gives an “if” clause or a main clause to each student. The student memorizes his/her sentence and search fort he clause that completes his/her sentence.
