Type of activity: Fill in the blanks, group works,choose the correct form,               
              

Aim:
  • To identify present perfect verb forms from a song.

  • To understand the difference (the definition, the use, etc.) between the present perfect tense and the simple past tense
      

Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to
  • Distinguish the form and function of Present Perfect Tense
  • Practice in speaking activity to use Present Perfect Tense and Simple Past Tense grammatically
  • Improve ability to produce writing using present perfect tense and practical general writing skills.

                     Procedure

     Warm up 5 minutes
The teacher starts with warm-up by simply reviewing the present perfect tense and the simple past tense to activate students’ knowledge of these two tenses. She gives some key words to ask Ss to use simple past tense and present perfect tense to ask and answer in pairs after discussion.
 E.g.
Holiday, homework, study, last Sunday, finish, stay at home, visit, play, friends, watch TV, etc.

                  S1: What did you do at your weekend?
   S2: I stayed at home and did my homework.
   S1: Have you finished your homework?
   S2: Yes, of course, I have finished all of them.




Listening activity : 10 minutes
She shows a presentation about the topic. She explains the topic step by step with examples while showing. (10minutes)

Listening activity : 25 minutes        
After the presentation, students watch a video with the song three times. (We are the champions). She plays the song 3 times to familiarise students with the song and its lyrics. Students complete the lyric of the song with the present perfect tense phrases, which are missing in the lyrics of the song.

Fill in the blanks : 10 minutes
The teacher distributes the handouts asks “Do you have any question?”. Students work in pairs in this activity and they fill in the blanks with present perfect tense.After they finish, Teacher checks their answers with students.

Pair work : 10 minutes
Teacher asks students to work in pairs. Teacher gives instruction to them. And asks choose the correct form of the verb. And she gives 5 minutes students. After they finish the activity teacher chooses students randomly and they come say their answer.

Group work : 15 minutes
Teacher asks students to work in groups. And she gives instruction to students. İntroduce your favorite song to your group member and try to find common one. Teacher gives them 10 minutes. After they finish the activity teacher ask one student from each group to say common songs.

Speaking activity : 5 minutes
Teacher ask students to sing their favorite songs. Students sing and the whole class have fun.
Input :  prensentation, song, instruction of the activities.

Outcome: the product outcomes for children are correct matching and to try to guess what a student revives.
                 The product outcomes for teacher are children’s realization present perfect tense.
                 The proses outcomes are speaking, writing and listening skills and children are
                  awaken to sense of wonder as positive attitude because the video is interesting and
                  enjoyable.
Teacher roles:  the teacher facilitator, model, collaborator, director, and controller.
Students roles: children are participator and actor at some stages. 
Organization: group work and individual work.
How to facilitate learning: language learning is facilitated by using real life task, using picture prompts and song.
