Duration of the lesson: 45 minutes
Equipment needed: Worksheets,
teacher’s book, whiteboard and maker, pictures, smart board.
Objectives:
Ø Within 20 minutes the students will be able to recollect
the words related to simple present.
Ø By the end of the lesson,the students will be able to internalize
directions related to simple present tense through participating in activities
done in the classroom.
Ø By the end of the lesson,the students will be able to form
the sentences using key words such as next to opposite, on the corner, in front
of etc…
PRESENTATION
Warm-up
The teacher greets the students at
first and s/he has students brainstorm about what they did in last course.
Later, teacher shows towns and places by means of smart board in order to
create a context in which both teacher and students share theirexperience about
town and country. Later, teacher puts the students into pairs and tells them
that they are going to list the places, objects that are found in town.
Students brainstorm and list the things found in the town then shares their
opinions to whole class. The teacher writes students’ answer on board.
Afterwards both teacher and students decide which places is best to visit.
While-activity
The teacher distributes the
photocopies of map and tells students to guess the occupation of people
standing on map. Both teacher and
students discuss to guess the occupation of people. Later, teacher tells
students that they are going to listen to the people going on treasure hunt in
town. Teacher explains that they are five clues that lead people to go on
treasure hunt. Students listen and find the clues on map. As soon as fist
listening is over, both teacher and students discuss or check the answers
together. Afterwards, teacher tells the students that they are going to
listen again and the write the clue sentences. At the end of the each clue,
teacher stops the record to check students’ replies.
When
the listening session is over, teacher tells students that they are going to
think of a place nearby and write directions from where they are now to that
place. After students write directions, teacher tells them that they should
choose a partner and read their directions to him or her to find somewhere.
