READING
ACTIVITY PLAN
(
cooperatively integrated with writing,speaking skill )
Objectives:
· By the end
of this skills integrated activity, students will be able to use the past
perfect tense when speaking about past events.
· By means of
this activity;
o the students
will be able to classify their experiences chronologically,
o that also
provides them to be able to choose the appropriate tense and needed time verbs
such as; when, before, after.
Implementation
Phases:
1. I am going
to show a picture and ask what does the girl do in the picture .
· I am going
to ask the reasons.
· Read the
story.
· Complete the
sentences according to the text.
2. I am going
to do a group activity and give them 4 different situations.
· Write down
what you guess about the end of the situation.
· Use the
structure of the Past Perfect Tense ( Remindig had+V3 with an example.)
3. I am going
to want them to change their guesses and predict the situation.
· Guess what
can be the situation stated in sentences.
· And, finally
I will distribute the papers.
· If time is
available, they will get them to read it to the whole class, if not, They can
read it to their friends and make little comments to each other.
v Read the text analytically, and answer the
complete the sentences accordingly. (Free
in thinking but limited with Past Perfect Tense, as structure )
That day, I was look forward to arrive home and just lie down,
because I had been really tired of taking photos all the day. Then finally job
was over, and I came to home. But Guess what! I arrived at home and saw that my
knock had been broken.. As you see, I had gotten burgled! Then I got in
immediately, The burglar had left my papers and photos all over the floor.
Worse, s/he had locked my poor dog in the cellar. Heartless Burglar! He had
also broken a window.
When I came home, robber had already gone. I was shocked and
afraid. Firstly I went to my room and saw that he had stolen my laptop. Then I
went to the living room and I saw that he had left my photos all over the
floor.and I went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. There were empty
plates on the table. The robber had eaten my cake, too. I didn’t know what to
do. It was a terrible night for me.
