Ceren Yaşın, Lesson Plan 2, CALL 2015

                                                               LESSON PLAN 2                                                 26.12.2014
TEACHER: CEREN YAŞIN
LEVEL OF THE CLASS: ELEMENTARY ( Prep Class)
THE TOPIC: DESCRIBING THE PEOPLE
SIZE : 30 STUDENTS
AGE GROUP: 15
AIM : The students will be able to improve their speaking ability in L2.
OBJECTIVES : At the end of the lesson ;
My students  will be able to build up their thinking ability
My students will be able to produce chunks of language at different lenghts.
My students  will be able to act according to the specific traits.
My students will be able to speak to influence and persuade.
My students will be able to take longer turns, use discourse markers and open and close   conversations
My students  will be able to monitor their own oral production and use various strategic devices-pauses fillers , self corrections, backtracking to enhance the clarify of the message.

                                                                         PRE –STAGE (15 mins)

OBJECTIVES:  My students  will be able to build up their thinking ability
                          My students will be able to produce chunks of language at different lenghts.

PROCEDURES: Teacher asks students that what kind of things that they put into consideration if they
will hire someone ? The teacher asks the students  whether they care for a college degree or not?
Then she asks them that what are their preferances while hiring someone, good personality or
ambitiousness? She hangs seven people’s picture and asks Ss what they think of those people to
elicit character traits. After that, she wants to know whether they want to hire them or not and
wants them to explain their choices.
                                                                        WHILE STAGE (15 mins)

      OBJECTIVES : My students  will be able to act according to the specific traits.
                              My students will be able to speak to influence and persuade.

    PROCEDURES :  Teacher  wants students to pair up. She wants one of them to be the boss and the
other    be the interviewee. Then she gives each interviewee a different character traits and wants
them to   act accordingly to the given traits. She tells each interviewee that they can choose their
speciality.   She tells each boss to find out whether the person is suitable for the manager position or
not. After every pair finished, teacher asks everyone  whether the boss made a wise choice or not.
The teacher tells the students to listen their friends carefully because after everyone has finished,
they will vote for the best conversation. After the best conversation is chosen, whole class applauds.

                                                                 POST STAGE (15mins)

     OBJECTIVES : My  students will be able to take longer turns, use discourse markers and open and 
                            close   conversations.
    My students  will be able to monitor their own oral production and use various strategic devices-
   pauses fillers , self corrections, backtracking to enhance the clarify of the message.

     PROCEDURES: After the stages the, teacher wants them to think of their dream job. Each student
  will talk about their dream job for 1 minute. She wants them to tell why they think it’s their
 dream job, do they have a role-model and wants them to tell about the characteristics of that
  particular job.
