Steps:
Warm
up (3’):
The teacher enters the class with a picnic bag, and begins to walk
around the class like s/he is walking in a forest. After that s/he
sits on the chair and pretends like s/he sees garbage on the ground.
“What is it, it is garbage everywhere.” Then says: “People
shouldn’t throw their garbage outside.”
Introduction
(2’):
The teacher tells the class they are going to talk about the
environmental problems, and what they should do to protect the
nature.
Presentation
(10’):
The teacher asks the students if they have seen anybody who throws
their garbage outside. Then after listening to a few students, s/he
asks them to make their warnings in English. The teacher helps them
forming sentences by using should and shouldn’t. After a few times,
s/he shows the materials s/he brought, and forms sentences using
these materials. S/he tells them how they should behave, and how they
should take out garbage without endangering the environment.
Activity
(20’):
The teacher asks the students to form groups of four. Firstly they
need to choose a role in the group. S/he says that they are going to
design a bill to create common sense for protecting the nature. They
need to prepare a well-designed, very detailed work. However, they
need to first find an attractive motto. After that they will fill the
pasteboards with pictures, symbols, words and sentences. The bills
will be qualified enough to exhibit in a public place. After the
instruction, s/he hands in pasteboards.
Review
(5’): The
teacher asks them to show their works to the class and express their
ideas about it. They will apply the municipality to display them on
public.
