Lesson Title: Wild Animals
Duration: 40 minutes
Equipment Needed: Computer, Projection, Worksheets, Board and Board marker.
Aims:
- To teach students to categorize wild animals like mammals, reptiles etc.
Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to categorize wild animals.
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to choose the names of the wild animals from crossword puzzles by reading clues.
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to make sentences about each wild animals which they have parts of body, what they eat and where they live.
PROCEDURE
Step 1: She teaches the
category of wild animals by saying mammals, reptiles, carnivores, herbivores
and birds. She writes them on the board. She shows the pictures including
category of wild animals via projector by one by. She gets the students to
repeat all of them. And teacher shows a reading passage about what they have
learnt. Students see how to write a short paragraph what they have learnt. (10 minutes)
Step 2: And then the teacher says
students to make group activities. She wants them to make groups of ten. So
there are 3 groups in the classroom. She gives ten animals each group. Each
student has an animal. She wants each student to write short paragraph about
given animals. After the students finish writing, she gives a cardboard each
group, she says the students to divide the cardboard into 5 parts and to write
an animal species each part. Each student sticks on the cardboard his animal
which category belongs to. And then she wants each group to present on the
board after they finish. (15 minutes)
Step 3: Teacher says the
students to play a game. In the game, teacher wants them to stay same groups.
She gives masks of the wild animals. And students take them on their heads. In
the game there is a ball and music. Teacher starts the game. When the music
starts, the ball passes between students. Students give the ball each other
while playing the music. And when the music stops, If the ball remains in whose
hands, he/she says the names of the wild animals on his/her heads and tells
what the animal eats, where it lives, which body parts it has and which species
it belongs to. (15 minutes) Finally she gives homework which includes crossword
puzzles and there are both wild animals and parts of body of them. In the
crossword puzzle, there are some clues about the animals. She says students to
find the animals by looking clues. Teacher checks them next week.
