OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the
lesson, students will be able to match the words with pictures.

At the end of the
lesson, students will be able to answer the questions related to the topic.

At the end of the
lesson, students will be able to categorize the sports.
PROCEDURE
Warm-up
Step 1: Teacher greets the students and
talks about the sports that she likes to do and watch on television.
Step 2: Teacher distributes the worksheets.
It is a word-search puzzle.
Step 3: Students try to find the hidden
words in this word search. After that they check with teachers.
Main-activity
Step 4: Teacher tells them that they will
work with their pairs. It is a speaking activity. Teacher gives the worksheets
for each pair.
Step 5: Students describe the pictures and
tell what they do to their partners and talks about their favourite sports to
do and watch.
Step 6: Teacher gives a reading text and
students read the text twice and answer the following questions related to the
paragraph.
Step 7: Teacher and students check the
answers together.
Step 8: Teacher distributes worksheets to
students. This time students look at the pictures and there is missing letters.
They guess the sport and fill in the missing letters.
Step 9: Teacher and students check the
answers together after they complete.
Post-activity
Step 10: After that teacher tells that they
will be play a game. It is a guessing game. Their pairs will give information
about the sport and the other students try to guess the sports. Teacher put the students into pairs, cut out the
pieces and give 6 pieces to each student.
Example: a game played by 2 or 4 people who hit a ball
on the table over a small net.
Answer: Table tennis
Step 11:
They watch a video about sports for fun.
