lesson plan-2 Topic: Body Care.Young learners.

ŞERİFE DAĞDELEN                                         LESSON PLAN
Date: 06th  March 2015
Grade: Pre-school 
Time: 20-25 minutes
Level: Beginner
Theme: Taking Care of Bodies
Objective: At the end of the class;
-Students will be able to recognize how to keep themselves healthy by practicing proper hygiene, eating healthy, and exercising.
Pre- teaching Stage:
The teacher starts the lesson by explaining to the children that they are going to talk about how to keep their bodies healthy and strong. Teacher also elicits some words related to caring the body.
While- teaching stage:
After teacher briefly explains the lesson he will read a book to them called Oh The Things You Can Do That Are Good For Your Body.  Next they will play a game with them using the flipchart.   The flip chart  will have a variety of tips of how they can take care of their bodies.  For example, the teacher  will say if your hair is messy you should A. comb it B. wear a hat C. cut it. , then the child will physically touch the correct  answer.
Follow- up stage:
The teacher is going to have the children role play.  They are going to pretend that they are asleep.  When they wake up they have to demonstrate how they will take care of their bodies. (Such as, brushing their teeth, combing their hair etc.)  They will also show the teacher  what they are going to do  through out the day to keep them healthy. (such as eating right and exercising).
Gardner’s Intelligences Covered:  The learning styles the teacher incorporated into the lesson plan are:
  1. Visual Spatial (children that are visual learners will enjoy the flip chart.)
  2. Bodily Kinesthetic (children that like to use their bodies will enjoy the follow up activity when they role play.)
     3.   Linguistic (children that enjoy books will like listening to the story and also reading the book on their own when the lesson is finished.)
