VELAT KARADAĞ LESSON PLAN EXAMPLES 1 AND 2

LESSON PLAN


Level                          :  Intermediate
Age – Level                :  14-15
Textbook                   :  Several textbooks
Topic                          :  “When you say nothing at all” by Ronan Keating
Aims      1. Distinguishing words.
 2. Distinguishing specific information.
Outcomes:
            Students will
1.      Talk about the films and songs
2.      Make predictions for the topic while watching the video.
3.      Guess the context before listening.
4.      Match the words with the meanings.
5.      Complete the sentences by using the correct words.
6.      Match the stanza which is divided.
7.      Distinguish the words while listening.
8.      Write song lyrics for a video.
9.      Join the activities voluntarily.
10.  Work with others co-operatively.
Materials                      :     PC, pictures, handouts, board,  boardmarker, videos.

Warm-up:
-Greet students, some small talk. Say them to play a game before the lesson.
- Divide the class into 4 groups and choose a group leader.
-Tell them ‘one by one group leaders will come to the board and chose a card, the leader try to draw it on board and group members try to find what it is.’
- Check instruction
- Start the activity.
- Make the class applaud the winners.
- Finish the activity
-Give feedback.

Lead in:
- Are you ready for the lesson now?
- Elicit answer and give feedback
- Ask some meaningful questions to make a good start for the topic.
-Ask ‘do you watch films? Which film have you watched lately? Do you like film songs? Which film songs do you know?’
- Elicit answers.
-Give feedback.
- Say ‘I will show a film and please try to guess which film it is?’ Which song is said in the film?
- Elicit answers and give feedback.

Introducing the topic:
-Say ‘today we will do listening and  we will study on the song lyrics of this film. The topic is ‘When you say nothing at all’
-Ask what does it mean?
-Elicit answers.

Activity 1

- Say ‘Work individually and try to match the words with their meanings.’
- Check instruction

LESSON PLAN                                                                                                                             
Topic:  Classroom Objects
Level: Elementary
Aim:  To teach the classroom objects with activities.
Materials:  Flashcards, textbook, handouts.
Duration : 30 minutes
WARM UP
Teacher teaches the classroom objects by sticking them to the real life materials, and says their names. Teacher chooses a student and asks the name of an object.

Procedures (Techniques) :
Task 1 : Twenty questions
The teacher chooses a student, and wants to think an object. Students writes its name on a piece of paper. The whole class ask only yes/no questions to find out this object. It continues several times.
Task 2 : Same or different
The students work in pairs in this activity. The teacher gives each pair two pictures of the classroom objects. The partner tries to decide whether the two pictures are the same or different.
Task 3 : Odd one out
The students are given sets of four words and have to decide which word is the odd one out.

Evaluation :
Teacher repeats the name of classroom objects by showing them, and the lesson finishes.
