Objectives

Warm up (20
mins)
The teacher starts lesson by telling a short story about s/he did last summer holiday. Then the teacher asks some questions about the story s/he has just said; “Where did I go last summer?”, “What did I do every day?”. After taking responses, s/he asks what the students did last summer holiday.

“In last
summer, I went to Antalya for holiday. The trip was so tiring. I stayed in a
hotel near the beach in Konyaaltı. I swam every day. I read book while
sunbathing. I visited some places not only in Konyaaltı but also in somewhere
else Antalya. It was a great holiday.”
While Activity (40 mins)
The teacher
makes the students pair and asks them to ask and write down what their pairs
did in last summer/winter holiday. Then the students change their pairs and
tell what their previous pair did in last summer/winter holiday. Then the
teacher asks the students to prepare a trip plan according to what their pairs
and they did in the last summer/winter holiday. (They are still pairs.) After
completing the plan, the teacher asks them to compare these two different plans
each other.
Post Activity
(20 mins)
After
comparing verbally, the teacher wants the students to write a passage about
what they and their pairs did in the last summer holiday. The students are
supposed to prepare three different drafts in order to submit as a portfolio;
first one is for organizing the ideas in the paragraphs, second one is for
correcting and adapting, third one is the final one that the student is done
with it.
