Context: Prepositions of Place

Duration: 40’

Objective(s): At the end of the lesson students will be able to

• use prepositions in a sentence
• talk about places by using prepositions like between, next to, in front of etc.

Materials: Pictures of prepositions of place, a puppet, worksheet

                                                   
                                                    STAGES OF LESSON 

  WARM UP 

 I create a context by using authentic materials.The materials which I use are picture of a house, pictures of two trees etc. In addition to them, there  is a puppet that I made before. I stick the pictures on the board and introduce my puppet. I say his name is Cin Ali and this is Alicin's house or cat etc. So, I introduced the character and the context.I give the meaning by using them.(The apple is between the trees etc.)

        WHILE UP

  I give students worksheet. I set the time limit. We check the answers with the class.

        FOLLOW UP 

        I ask some questions about students' home town. The questions are like " where is your home ? Are there any hospital in your neighbourhood ? "  After the answers, I ask them to draw their neighbourhood . Then, students work in pairs and they need to describe their hometown to their pair. I give the instruction them. At the end of the lesson, I briefly talked about the subject of the day.
