LESSON  PLAN(1)

Date: 08.03.2015
 Name of the pre-service teacher: Hasret BUĞDAY, 
 Age group of the students: 14-15
Size of Class: 30
Level of proficiency:pre-intermediate
Title of lesson:Personality and Character
Duration  of the lesson:80min.
Equipment needed:pictures,video,worksheet,smart board,white board,board marker.
Objectives:
At the end of the lesson,students  will be able to;
1.practise their communicative skill.
2.participate in the basic,simple conversation.
3.describe  the characters of the movie.
4.discuss their partner about the movie and it’s characters.
5.write their favourite movie,character by using “my favorite movie or character  is………….”

                                     PRESENTATION

 WARM-UP(5min.)
Teacher greets students and  shows a picture.”What  is it? What comes to your mind?”Students answer(film,movie,cinema).Teacher asks “do you like watching movie? Students  answer.
PRE-LISTENING(10min.)
Teacher hangs   on the  some types  posters related to films.(Avatar,Ice –Age,Titanic,Dracula,The Pursuit of Happyness ,)Teacher  asks “do you know these  films?”what kind s of  films  are  they?”“horror ,cartoon, romance or science fiction, drama films?”  Students answers. Teacher  asks “what is your favourite  film are they?”Students  answer  their favourite  films and explain its reason.
WHILE-LISTENING(50min.)
Teacher asks “do you like watching films?”Students  answer and teacher  asks  which one do you prefer watching?”(she shows films Titanic,Ice-Age,Dracula,The Pursuit of Happyness)Most of the student prefer watching  “Titanic”(they don’t watch the whole part,they will watch summary:30min.)
Before they watch,teacher says” you will fill in the charts and use the adjective above.She gives them the worksheets.After  they  watch,they fill in the blanks.Teacher says “work in your partner and discuss your chart in your partners.
e.g.
Deniz:My  favourite character is Rose.She is beautiful,she is also sympathetic.
Sharon:My  favourite character is Jack. He is handsome,energetic.My least character is Billy.He is  aggressive and  stingy.

   POST-LISTENING(15min.)
  Teacher says “work in partners and dramatize “what is your favourite scene is it?”However,before you start to dramatize,say our favourite scene is…………… and explain its reason.

Level of proficiency:pre-intermediate
Title of lesson:ARTS(simple past tense)
Duration  of the lesson:80min.
Equipment needed:pictures,video,writing texts,carton,scissors,glue,smart board,white board,board marker.
Objectives:
At the end of the lesson,students  will be able to;
1.distinguish most important musicians by looking their pictures.(Bach-Vivaldi-Mozart-Beethoven)
2.participate in the basic,simple conversation.
3.practise their reading skill.
4.summarize the life of Mozart by using simple past tense.
5.design a poster about Mozart life.
WARM-UP( 10 min.)
Teacher greets her Ss.Teacher says” you will listen to symphony and try to guess,whose is it?” (Maybe,some students can know,some can’t.)Teacher says” It  is Mozart’s forthieth symphony .They listen to it again and teacher tries to pay their attention.
PRE-READING( 20 min.)
Teacher shows pictures related to four musicians.(Bach-Vivaldi-Mozart-Beethoven)She asks”do you know these musicians?”Do you say their names?”Teacher hangs on these pictures on the board and writes their names under  the pictures.Teacher brings the short biography writings about musicians and she hands out them and she reads them.(she tries to give S.past tense inductively.)
  WHILE-READING( 20min.)
Teacher says “you will read the text about Mozart,read and try to get the main ideaShe hands out the reading text..After they read,teacher says” read the text again and try to guess what kınd of a text is it? a.biography b.story  c.article”  Then they read,students  answer.(biography)If some student can’t find ıts answer,teacher explains ıts reason why biography is.
Teacher says “you will read the text again and(shows the T-F part)write True and False.When they read and answer the T-F part,teacher walks around the class and checks them.After they finish the activity,they answer.If one student gives wrong answer,teacher helps him/her to rectify her/his mistake.At the end of the activity,teacher says the answers again and students check their answers.
POST-READING(30min.)
Teacher divides the class five groups.Each group has six persons.Teacher says “you will work in groups.Make a poster and summarize the life of Mozart.I will give you pictures,carton,scissors,glue and use them.After you finish your poster,you tell it.”She chooses one person each group to tell the poster what they make.After they finish their poster,each group leader comes to board and tells their poster.
