Topic: Weather Conditions
Aim:
To make students communicate with using body language.
To extract specific information of weather conditions from a record.
Giving opportunity to students to present a real life situation
To repeat words of weather conditions.
Objectives: 
By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to describe weather conditions with using gestures.
By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to pick up the essential information in short recorded passages about weather conditions
By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to interact in a simple way but communication is totally dependent on repetition at a slower rate of speech.
By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to ask and answer questions about predictable everyday situations.
Materials:
Microphone, Weather Map (made of cartoon), Worksheet, Speaker, Song,






Warm up activity
·          It is a charades activity. Teacher divides class into two groups. Teacher chooses a speaker and 3 volunteers in each group. Teacher gives instructions below:
Now we will play a game. Its name is charades game. I want a volunteer from each group. There is a box and there are some cards in them. There are weather conditions on cards. This volunteer will pick a card from the box and try to tell this condition with own body gestures but silently. After 1 minute this volunteer will ask the question “What’s the weather like?” His or her group speaker will answer the question. If it is correct, they will get 1 point. If it is incorrect, other group will have a chance to get 1 point. Who reaches 3 point will be the winner.
Pre – Activity
·         Then teacher says “It is time for song.” Teacher gives instructions below:
I will give you an exercise.  Teacher distributes worksheets. There are some blanks on them. It is a fill in the blank activity. Teacher gives instruction (below) before distribution.
You will listen to a song. Try to find the missing words. Also there are some clues at the end of the sentences. (Second listening) Now you will work in pairs. Exchange your answers with your pairs. You will listen again and check your answers with pairs.
·         Teacher checks all answers and says “It is time to sing this song”. They all sing the song.
While Activity
·         Teacher puts a weather map on the board. There are 25 regional weather forecast on it. Teacher asks students to report weather forecast to students. This is a role play activity. Teacher gives instructions below.
Imagine that you are weather reporter. There are twenty five weather forecast and you will report one city. There is a microphone. You will report us by using it. Other students will ask questions by using the telephone.
Post Activity
·         It is a battleship game. The teacher divides class into two groups. S/he chooses a group speaker. Then teacher gives instructions below:
Now we will play a game. Each group has one game table. On tables there are twelve weather condition pictures. On each game table, weather conditions are in mixed order. You will guess by asking “what’s the weather like?” according to columns and rows. For example group A asks “What’s the weather like in A1?” according to their own table and group B will guess it. Each group has three rights to guess. Which group reaches four point, they will be the winner.
Project Work

·         Students prepare a weather forecast poster and compare the weather condition in different cities.
