Equipment needed: smart board, realia(authentic materials), and marker.                                                  Objectives: At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1-      Recognize the use of the structure “need/don’t need” without having difficulty.
2-      Use the structure “need/don’t need” in their daily life through practicing it as much as possible.
3-      Internalize the structure “need/don’t need” and store it in their long term memory.
                                                    PRESENTATION
Pre-stage:
Teacher greets with students and asks questions related to money. Then, teacher draws a girl whose name is Ayşe on board. Afterwards, teacher shows Ayşe’s packages and tells what he/she bought. Later, teacher tells students that they are going to talk about what they will buy based on their needs. Teacher tells that he wants to cook omelets and asks what does he need to cook omelets? Students tell many things such as butter, eggs, cheese etc.
While-Stage:
            Teacher tells the students that they are going to play the game called shopping game. Teacher selects 5 students to be seller. The other students in classroom will be customers. Students practice the structure “need/don’t need”.  Students   will use authentic materials in that game. Sellers ask the customer: what do you need madam? Students answer I need some eggs. Students buy something depending on what they need.
Post-Stage:
      Teacher shows a fridge to students and tells them they will imagine that the fridge is yours. Later, teacher tells students that they are going to write paragraph about what they need to buy to fill the fridge. While students are writing the passage, teacher monitors them and helps as much as possible. As soon as students finish the activity, they change their papers and compare their list with their partner.
Contingency plan:  Students act out the dialogue between two people who talk about what they need to buy for the kitchen.

Meryem : Oh, I likefriedpotatoes. Let's
   buy a lot of potatoes. Wehaveonlytwo.
Lisa : OK, Meryem. Oh, wealsoneed
butterforthecake.
Meryem :Yeah. But wedon'tneed
muchbutter. Wehavesomehere.
Lisa :And? Oh! A cookbook, some
Knives.
Meryem : Alipstick!
Lisa:Forthekitchen?!
